The CITeagle Experience

Participants are fully enrolled campers in the regular Eagle program. They are grouped with peers, have a dedicated group counselor, follow the daily schedule, and attend special events like Eagle day trips and after-camp parties.

However, as CITeagles, they also participate in a specialized Leadership Training & Development track, which includes:

Daily Training- Every day, CITeagles engage in approximately one hour of dedicated leadership development.

Expert Guidance- This year’s training will be conducted by Kierstin Bloom, a guidance counselor in the Harborfields School District.

Hands-On Learning- Sessions vary between classroom workshops, group discussions, and active role-modeling opportunities with younger campers.

Core Values & Skills

While the structure has changed, the heart of the program remains the same. We remain committed to the values that define Camp Alvernia leaders:

Respect (The Alvernian Way)- Respect for self, others, and the environment.

Responsibility & Integrity- Building trust and accountability.

Kindness & Compassion- Fostering an open-minded and non-judgmental community.

Individuality & Independence- Encouraging self-expression and decision-making.

Eligibility & Enrollment

To participate in this unique program, campers must:

  • Be 15 years old by the start of the summer.
  • Be enrolled as campers at Camp Alvernia.
  • Participate in a group interview or receive a recommendation from a previous Eagle staff member.
The CITeagle program allows your teen to build critical life skills (like communication, conflict resolution, and stress management) without missing out on the joy and friendships of their final camper years.
