An Old-Fashioned Summer Camp

Camp Alvernia is an 8-week day camp serving hundreds of children and teens aged 3-14, with a special focus on positive youth development. We offer a strong program including a wide range of activities from major sports to swimming and sailing. Camp Alvernia is set in the woods of Suffolk County overlooking Centerport Harbor, a beautiful environment for our programs. Our inclusive culture of respect means every child is free to be themselves.

Our mission is to actively help develop each camper’s spiritual, moral, and physical advancement.

In keeping with our Franciscan tradition, we provide a warm, caring environment with special attention toward serving our youth and promoting an environmental awareness. Camp Alvernia is open to all without regard to religion, race, or national origin.
