We are so excited to have you and your family come and experience a day on our gorgeous 15 acre wooded waterfront property. Please read on to find out more about this relaxing outdoor camp experience for your family.
A day at our Family Camp means your family will be one of just seven family cohorts on the grounds at a time. You’ll have your own home base cabin for the day, with a private bathroom and air conditioning, as well as access to the great outdoors with no chance of a crowd.
The sprawling Alvernia campus makes it easy for your family cohort to remain physically distant from other families while enjoying pool, boating, and more. Bring your kids to one of their favorite places and don’t forget to have fun yourself!
$300 per cabin for up to 4 people and $50 per additional person. Under 2 years old is free. 10 people maximum per cabin.
$425 per cabin for up to 4 people and $50 per additional person. Under 2 years old is free. 10 people maximum per cabin.
After you arrive, check in at the office, and receive a bracelet for the day, you will be given a map of the grounds, your cabin name and schedule of activities for your specific cabin if you would like to participate in them.
Each cabin is only for your family cohort. You will have access to air conditioning, a bathroom, electricity, a space to change, a place to keep your things and your own picnic table located right outside. There will not be a refrigerator available so please bring a cooler for any perishables. There is also no wifi on the grounds.
Each cabin will have one time slot for boating and two for pools. Please stay within your designated time slots for your cabin to ensure that we are following all proper physical distancing guidelines.
Every family/cohort needs to remain together the entire time. For example, if your family/cohort is at the pool at 9am, then the whole family/cohort will need to be at the pool together. Half of your family cannot go to the pool and the other half to basketball. This is Family Camp, a time for families to participate in camp activities together. There will be ample time for you and your family to do a multitude of activities throughout the day.
We recommend you bring your own Coast Guard approved PFD (personal flotation device) which is required for all to go out on the boats. You will not be permitted to boat without a PFD. We have limited PFD’s available which will be cleaned and disinfected between uses but to limit sharing, if you have your own, please bring it.
You will have access to canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards. Small children may use our 6ft mini-kayaks and power paddlers. There will be boating staff present but they will not be available to take you and your family out on the boats. Sailboats will NOT be available.
Check the weather forecast and come dressed for the weather, and bring anything you would need for a day of fun!
NOTE: Adult beverages and smoking are not permitted anywhere on campus
If you’re interested, simply fill out our Family Programs Request Form. Once reviewed, a Camp Alvernia Program Coordinator will contact you to go over expectations for the day and help you choose the day that works best for you.
Although we are very much dog and pet lovers Family Camp is not the place for your animal. Please leave them at home for the day.
Families can only hang out with the people they have been living in quarantine with or whom they have chosen to extend their cohort with. Parents/guardians are responsible for enforcing this rule throughout the day.
No. Every minor must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for their safety or welfare throughout the day.

You will be required to wear masks when checking in at the beginning of the day, going inside any building besides your own cabin, and whenever you are unable to remain at least 6 feet away from others that are not in your family. Please do not approach our staff or other groups unmasked. While outside and with your family, you are free to remain unmasked.
No, there is no way for us to properly clean the playgrounds between families using them so they will remain closed.
Yes! The canteen will be open for purchase of snacks, drinks, ice cream and camp swag. Credit card only.
Other than snacks, ice cream and drinks being sold at the canteen, there will not be food provided. Please bring whatever food/drinks you need for the day and remember that we are a nut aware camp. Plan to eat all food from home at your cabin to limit exposing other attendees to possible allergens. There are water fountains available throughout the campus to refill your water bottles, however, we ask that you not drink directly from them to limit the possible spread of COVID-19.
Rain is part of camp sometimes! If it is a light drizzle and we are confident it is safe for us to open we will be open. If it begins to thunder and you must miss your boating or swim hour you will be rescheduled for later in the day if available. If we are unable to, you will be offered a partial refund of $50. If we decide to cancel the day, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule to another day.
Once you have booked a cabin there will be no refunds. You can choose to send another family in your stead but the family must speak with a Camp Alvernia Program Coordinator before the switch can be made. You can also choose to donate your cabin to one of our scholarship families. If you must cancel due to illness, please submit a doctor’s note within 7 days to receive a full refund to your original payment method, less a $50 processing fee. Please contact us as soon as possible for any issues.
Camp Alvernia has 15 acres of space to enjoy being outside with your family. You can swim, enjoy boating during your designated time and any pre-scheduled activities available that day. We have tennis, handball, basketball, and volleyball courts, two gaga pits, baseball field, soccer field and beach area for you and your family to enjoy. Please bring whatever equipment you will need to utilize these areas and label them with your family name. Camp Alvernia is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
No, there will not be a nurse on site and you are responsible for the possible risk of exposure to covid 19 as well as injury. Our lifeguards and boating staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and will have first aid kits on site.
Cabins will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each day after all the guests have left. Any equipment from boating will be sanitized between uses. High touch surfaces at the pool areas and around camp will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times during the day, as well as at the end of the day. In addition to your family’s private cabin bathroom, we also have a shared, single use bathroom located at boating and another near the tennis courts; these will also be cleaned and sanitized multiple times throughout the day, as well as at the end of the day.
There will be a maximum of 70 guests allowed on camp grounds at a time on any single given day.
You are! Each family is in charge of their own children and should remain together as a family.
Ben and Badyr will be on site during Family Camp. The two pools will have lifeguards and there will be staff at boating to set up the boats, lifeguards and staff out on chase boats. Again, you are responsible for your children.
