HOBBES-O-WEEN SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 15 AT CAMP ALVERNIA
Local Pet Shop to Sponsor Numerous Raffle Baskets
Camp Alvernia will be hosting a birthday/Halloween party in honor of its Camp Dog, Hobbes, on Saturday October 15 from 12:00-3:00 P.M. “Hobbes-o-ween” will be a celebration of Hobbes’ third birthday as well as a Halloween bash that children and their families are bound to enjoy! Tickets for the event are priced at $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and may be purchased in advance by emailing Ariel at or by contacting the camp at (631)261-5730. Tickets will be available at the door as well. We would like to invite anyone in the community to come out and join us for a day of Halloween fun! All-you-can-eat barbecue fare and cupcakes will be served throughout the afternoon for all attendees. There will also be goodie bags provided for the kids and doggie bags for pets. Some Halloween events are also planned for the afternoon, including costume contests (for humans and dogs), a variety of games and relay races and a dog show for those who choose to bring their dog along. Only trained, leashed dogs will be permitted to attend and the owners will be responsible for cleaning up after them. Dogs and costumes are optional for the event. Whether you have a dog or not, everyone is bound to have a great time! Our event sponsor is The Peticular Pet, a local pet shop located on East Main Street in Huntington. The Peticular Pet will be providing several pet-themed raffle baskets to be bid on and are currently selling costumes for pets that can be worn at Hobbes-o-ween. Tickets are priced at $5 for one ticket and $20 for five tickets. Those who purchase their Hobbes-o-ween tickets in advance will be given a free raffle ticket for each person registered! Costumed or not, pet or no pet, everyone is guaranteed to have a blast at Hobbes-o-ween! Come on down and celebrate with us as Hobbes turns 3 and Halloween comes early to Camp Alvernia!
